Boy Scout Merit Badge University (MBU) is on November 5, 2016 at St. Philip's College. A one day event is hosted by the Boy Scouts of America, Alamo Area Council, for Boy Scouts in the 6th-12th Grade or ages 11-17. Here, Scouts can earn up to four merit badges to help with their path toward their Eagle Scout rank and serve our community. Merit Badge University is a bi-annual event hosted by the Alamo Area Council.

REGISTRATION PROCESS - PLEASE READ FIRST!!!

  • Registration is a two step process...

The Troop Contact must first register the unit. If you are a unit leader or the unit's registration contact, click the orange button above to register your unit.

  1. Unit leaders or Troop Contacts register participants through the unit's page. This is the only way that participants can register. Please contact your unit leader to get scouts registered as a participant.

ONLY TROOP CONTACTS CAN REGISTER SCOUTS

NOTE: Troop Contacts please read MBU Registration Guide

Actual fees per person listed below. They will be collected from your unit.

  • $20 - Scout Registration Fee - Payable during registration process only.
  • Troop Contact - Registration - begins August 15.
  • Scout Registration - begins Sept. 14 closes Oct. 25, 2015. (no exceptions)
  • Paid registrations are refundable up through Oct 28th, less a 50% supply fee, upon written request with a copy of the receipt of payment.  From Oct. 29th up to seven days after the event refunds will only be issued in the event of a valid medical emergency or military assignment.  Proper documentation must be provided.  Refund requests need to be sent to Refunds@AlamoAreaBSA.org .

     

Please Note: Council Office Hours are M-F 8:30am to 5:30pm, Closed Weekends.

The person registering the unit becomes the unit's contact for this event. This individual will be the person who will be used as the communication point for this event and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all communication to troop about event
  • Responsible for registering all participants and managing their class schedules
  • Responsible for payment by troop to council for the event
    • Payments may be made by Credit Card or Electronic Check
  • Responsible to work with the council to resolve any potential conflicts that may arise
  • Responsible for registering all participants and managing their class schedules
